Remote DVR Service
Cable Vision services announced yesterday that it will be launching a remote DVR service that will be cheaper and more efficient than the current home DVR service. Instead of having a DVR in your home you will now have access to a remote DVR service allowing all the same functionality as before.
The company is calling the Remote DVR service RS-DVR and will benefit the customer by being significantly cheaper as people won't have the additional monthly expense of an upgraded digital box. Also the customer does not have to wait for a DVR to be delivered nor does either Cable Vision or the customer have to incur the cost of delivery.
Cable Vision says it does not foresee any copyright problems as the remote DVR service only provides the same service that the customer would have with a home device, the only difference being the location of the DVR. They say in no way does it provide a Video on Demand service.
User of Cable Visions remote DVR service will be able to use the remote DVR in the same way as their home device and will also be able to record two TV shows simultaneously while watching a pre recorded program.
