CNET Video on Demand with TiVo
CNET has been a long standing and successful online network providing technology news, reviews, a huge and extensive download site, and more recently embracing broadband technology with video webcasts, streaming music, podcasts and more.
CNET is now looking to expand its horizons to mainstream television through a video on demand partnership with TiVo and cable operator Cox Communications. The new CNET video on demand service will see CNET original content presented in video through TiVo DVR technology.
This CNET video on demand enterprise is a natural progression from their ever growing online technological network and will now make their extensive insight into the latest technologies available on regular televisions through DVRs.
TiVo has already tested the CNET Video on Demand service over the winter allowing some of their DVR users who received movie trailers and special features during TiVO updates to receive some CNET content for free.
The CNET video on demand service is expected to make money through selling advertising space and through brokering revenue splits with various platforms but will also play a successful role in raising the CNET brand.
