Only a week after purchasing the DVR software specialist Meedio Yahoo has already launched its own Yahoo DVR software called Yahoo Go. There is a huge list of features available from the Yahoo GO service.

You can use Yahoo Go to manage photos through Yahoo Photos and also view Flickr photos. The Yahoo video search feature allows you to watch online videos on your PC. You can even watch DVD movies from your PC or Movies from your PCs hard drive, watching the latest movie trailers is also a feature of the Yahoo DVR software. Additionally you can listen to music using the Yahoo Launch Cast service. All this can be viewed on your TV by connecting it to your PC.

You may be thinking that you can do all this normally through the normally without the Yahoo DVR software. This is true but what sets this software apart is the ability for the software to turn your PC into a DVR player. If you have a TV Tuner Card then you can turn your PC into a DVR with the Yahoo DVR software bringing normal DVR functionality to your PC. If you connect your PC to your TV then you have successfully cut out the need for a regular DVR box.



The biggest competitor to the Yahoo DVR software is Microsoft's Media Center which has similar functionality but will be built into millions of PCs with the Microsoft Operating system.
