LG Plasma TV with built-in HD DVR

LG revealed the upgraded flat panel plasma TV equipped with enhanced HD DVR(High Definition Digital Video Recorder) at a launch event and press conference at Seoul, Korea. The new versions of LCD plasma TVs with built-in HD DVR will bring TiVo-like features integrated totally into the TV set. By launching the worlds first plasma TV equipped with a built in HD DVR, LG has redefined the plasma TV viewing experience.
The new digital flat panel TV is available in LCD (37", 42", 47") and plasma TV(42", 50") versions in Korea and has the following specifications: built-in HD DVR (250 GB), ATSC/NTSC/QAM Clear Tuners, Digital CableCARD, TV Guide On Screen, 9-in-2 Multi Memory Card Reader,LG's Exclusive XD Engine, HDMI with HDCP, IEEE 1394 with DTV link, 5000:1 Contrast Ratio and 1366 x 768p Resolution. The built-in HD DVR is capable to store up to 21 hours of HD(High Definition) Programming (about 14 World Cup games) or 92 hours of SD(Standard Definition) programming (all World Cup games), commercial skipping, fast forward, high speed rewind. The 9-in-2 multi memory card reader allows to view images and listen to MP3 files through the TV.
This new generation flat panel TV is part of a marketing campaign, targeting the World Cup 2006, LG predicting that the World Cup 2006 will be a milestone for TV viewing worldwide. LG plans to become the number one in the global display market by 2010 by developing the new LCD standard. With the 55 thousand panels produced each month LG expects to be the world largest producer of plasma TV panels.
