TiVo Internet Television | TiVoCast

TiVo has recently been expanding the number of internet broadcasts that it has made available through its Series 2 TiVo DVRs. The new range of internet video services available on Tivo has been labeled TiVoCast. TiVo subscribers will be able to access the videos through the Showcase area of TiVo central.

TiVo internet video includes content from iVillage, CNET, heavy.com, the New York Times, rocketboom.com and the National Basketball Association. TiVo began testing internet television last August and they have continued to grow the service since then. TiVo has recently teamed up with Brightcove to broadcast their internet video content through TiVo.

As the growth of online video media continues TiVo hopes to cash in by providing the content to regular TV users and offer additional advertising opportunities to broadcasters and advertisers.
