Recently SageTV become the first DVR software that allowed you to PlaceShift. Placeshifting is a new term used to describe the ability to listen to or watch recorded media on any network connected device and not just the device that received it. In other words using SageTv you can access live or prerecorded content on any internet connected PC anywhere in the world.

SageTV have also just added this Placeshifting functionality to the Linux version of the software as it was previously only available for windows. The Placeshifting functionality is available as an add-on to the software which costs $30. You can purchase a brand new version of SageTV complete with Placeshifting for $99.95.
